Overpaid Packers: Aaron Rodgers

Entering the 2022 season, Rodgers was a back-to-back MVP and a four-time award winner. He deserved the massive extension he received, as he looked revitalized in Matt LaFleur’s offense. Last season was a completely different story.

Rodgers failed to throw for at least 300 yards in a single game all season and finished with one of his worst performances of his career. Some of the blame can be placed on the lack of playmakers, but Rodgers deserves most of the criticism. His passing yards, touchdowns and interceptions were all among his career-worst.

Rodgers was still a top-15 quarterback last season, but he was getting paid to be a difference-maker. His cap hit of $31.6 million is the highest on the team and will only rise exponentially over the next two seasons if he’s still in Green Bay.
