The Green Bay Packers don’t often dip their toe into the free agency pool, but when they do, they target players that fit into categories: Younger players with multi-year deals and older players on one-year, cheap contracts.

If Green Bay wants to pursue free agents who fall into the former, several quality candidates are set to hit this year’s market. The only issue will be creating enough cap space to sign at least one impactful player.

The Packers are over the salary cap and must continue making moves to get into legal standing before the new NFL year begins on March 15th. They will likely renegotiate every veteran contract to not only get under the cap, but also create enough room to potentially sign a player.

Let’s check out five players who are 25-years-old or younger heading into free agency.

Dean Lowry and Jarran Reed are entering free agency and likely have their best football behind them. That’s not the case with Hill. He split time with the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals last year and proved capable of holding a rotational spot along the defensive line. He’s a solid tackler and can provide some pass rush from the interior.
