Free agent replacements if Packers don’t re-sign Amos: Kareem Jackson
Speaking of the short-term, Jackson could give the Packers one year to get their affairs in order and find a long-term replacement through the NFL Draft or other measures.
The 2010 first-round pick had a bounce-back year of sorts with the Denver Broncos after a down 2021 campaign. His 64.5 PFF grade ranked 52nd among 88 qualified safeties, providing a decent (but imperfect) upgrade for the Packers. Jackson spent most of his time at free safety, but could also play up near the line of scrimmage or cover tight ends and receivers in the slot.
His missed tackles have risen over the last couple of years and he’s clearly a step or two slower. However, he’d be a veteran presence at the position, cost next to nothing, and allow Green Bay to develop a player for the long term.
