Packers who could be sleeper cap casualties: Jonathan Garvin, Edge

Jonathan Garvin is another player who would create a minimal salary cap advantage by cutting him, but it could be worth it as part of the larger plan. Similar to Scott, Green Bay would only save $1 million by cutting Garvin.

The 2020 seventh-round selection only played 194 defensive snaps last year, cutting his 2021 playing time in half. That’s not a good direction to be trending considering the lack of depth the Packers have on the edge and the mid-season loss of Rashan Gary.

He didn’t do much in those snaps, recording seven total pressures in 83 pass-rushing attempts. The Packers have to fill this void in the offseason, and could use that million to upgrade their depth.
