Free agents Packers should avoid: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Wide Receiver

We keep ticking off needs the Packers have and telling you who they shouldn’t sign. I feel like a Debbie Downer with a glass-half-empty view of life.

Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are free agents, leaving a void at the position for the Packers. They have a couple of young, promising receivers in Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, but they need a veteran presence.

If they let Cobb and Lazard walk, they should stay away from Smith-Schuster. He had a nice season in Kansas City, but can be too much personality to handle. If the Packers transition to Jordan Love next season, that’s a task that shouldn’t be put on his plate. He’ll have enough to worry about, nonetheless, trying to keep a receiver happy on and off the field.
