The Green Bay Packers can clear salary cap room this offseason and sign some new free agents to their team if they so desire.

They’ve already begun the process by reworking Aaron Jones’ contract and will be able to restructure the deals of plenty of other veterans on their team. This will push more money into the future, a tool they’ve used plenty over the last few years, but will clear cap space for 2023.

If they clear money and dip their toe into the free agency pool, here are five players they should stay far, far away from.

The Green Bay Packers should stay away from these five free agents at all costs if they want to improve their team in 2023.

Free agents Packers should avoid: Foster Moreau, Tight End

Green Bay will need to address tight end at some point this offseason. Marcedes Lewis and Robert Tonyan are free agents and they don’t have a capable replacement on their roster. Although there are several tight ends worthy of a starting spot on the free agent market, Foster Moreau is not one of them.

With Darren Waller down in 2022, Moreau did not rise to the occasion. He only posted 33 receptions for 420 yards and two touchdowns despite starting 14 games. That’s not a good sign for someone whose strength is supposed to be his receiving skills.
