Dream free agents for Packers: Jadeveon Clowney, Edge

The Packers have questions to answer on the edge this offseason. Rashan Gary is a star and the team will likely try to extend him, saving money on this year’s cap in the process. He’s also recovering from a torn ACL and it’s unknown exactly when he’ll return.

Preston Smith is a fine running mate, but cannot do the heavy lifting himself. Adding another veteran like Clowney would be a great addition. Clowney could start alongside Smith until Gary returns, and then split time with both guys. Unlike other positions, having a strong rotation is key on the edge, as they wear themselves down sprinting after the quarterback all game long. A one-year deal would be intriguing for both sides.
