5 homerun prospects for Packers in 2023 NFL Draft’s first round
Homerun prospects for Packers: Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama
This is probably a pipe dream, as Anderson is the top-rated prospect on The Athletic’s consensus Big Board, but where there’s a will there’s a way (or something like that).
Anderson led the nation with pressures as a freshman (60 pressures) and then again as a sophomore (82). He added another 64 pressures last year to give him a whopping 206 over three years. Oh, and he also had 36 sacks.
He beats his man as soon as the ball is snapped with a lightning-fast first step. This allows him to maximize his speed and flexibility around the edge and easily get around offensive tackles. He could benefit from adding some more pass-rushing tools to his box. He has the potential to play every single down, as he’s just as adept at setting the edge and stopping the run as he is getting after the quarterback.
