4 strongest positions on Packers’ roster heading into 2023 offseason
It’s true the Green Bay Packers have a lot of work to do this offseason. They also have a decent base to build upon, including several positions that are strengths heading into next season.
Despite an underwhelming season, Green Bay still managed to win eight of their 17 games. They will definitely need plenty of tweaks to return to Super Bowl contention, but they shouldn’t be looking at a full-on rebuild. Reload is a more accurate word.
These four positions are ones of strength for the team heading into the offseason (that doesn’t mean they should be ignored, as there is always room for upgrades).
The Green Bay Packers are returning many players next season, and here are the four strongest positions on their roster heading into the offseason.
Linebacker
The Packers are spending a lot of money on inside linebackers ($8.2 million on DeVondre Campbell and $3.1 million on Quay Walker) after signing the former to a long-term contract and using a first-rounder in 2022 on the latter. Campbell and Walker weren’t perfect last year and have room for improvement. However, the duo also represents one of the most athletic inside linebacker combinations in the NFL, with plenty of upside remaining. Isaiah McDuffie and restricted free agent Krys Barnes are nice depth pieces as well.
