6 Pros and cons of Packers trading Aaron Rodgers
The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers could be heading toward a divorce that ends with a trade.
Rodgers has always talked about how he wanted to avoid this part of Brett Favre’s career and play his entire career with Green Bay. However, as he nears his last years, that seems to have changed.
For one thing, he wants to avoid a rebuild and it appears the Packers are getting closer and closer to that point. They’ve mortgaged their future to run it back a couple of times and are only getting further away from their ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.
Here are six pros and cons of the Green Bay Packers potentially trading future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
A decision about Jordan Love’s contract is also coming up. He’s entering his fourth year and the Packers will have to decide if they want to exercise his fifth-year option. That’s a difficult conundrum considering they haven’t seen him in significant game action.
Love also wants to be a starting quarterback somewhere. As a former first-round pick and someone who has received praise from the coaching staff and teammates alike, he deserves the opportunity to see if he’s ready.
All of that could lead to the Packers trading Rodgers and opening up space for Love. If that happens, here are the pros and cons of any such deal.
