Realistic restructure candidates for Packers: Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander wasn’t at his best in 2023, a theme from the Packers’ top defenders throughout Joe Barry’s tenure as the defensive coordinator.

He was still Green Bay’s best cornerback throughout the season despite the soft zone scheme the Packers run not fitting his talents. He will continue to battle on the field and should improve in 2023 and beyond.

He signed a four-year, $84 million extension that kicks in this season. His cap hit will balloon to $20 million in stay in the low to mid-20s over the next four years. Green Bay can’t afford to lose him and will likely approach him with a restructure that will save almost $9 million.

Amount Saved: $8.89 million
