Grading Bucks’ Guards:

Jrue Holiday

Holiday’s defense is as elite as ever. With Carter starting in the backcourt alongside him for the first part of the season, he set his sights on wings and bigger guards and demolished them with the same ease. He’s unquestionably one of the best all-around defenders in the NBA.

His issues have been on the offensive end of the court. He’s picked it up after a slow start, but is having his least efficient scoring season since joining the Bucks; he’s specifically struggling in the mid-range area.

Grade: B+

Jevon Carter

He started the first 20 games of the season and looked like a renewed player: He had a ton of confidence on offense and was providing elite defense. He’s been very inconsistent since he moved to the bench and hasn’t shown the same bravado. This was paired with a shooting slump, but he’s shown signs of life in the last few games.

Grade: B-

George Hill

Hill is playing the veteran bench role of someone who plays when needed, but is conceding playing time to other guys trying to prove themselves. He provides very little offense and his three-point percentage is abysmal for a second-straight season. That makes him borderline unplayable despite his steadiness in other areas. He doesn’t do much, but understands his role when he’s on the court.

Grade: C-

A.J. Green

Playing on a two-way contract, he’s been a pleasant surprise for Milwaukee. His defense will never be good enough to make him playable in the playoffs, but his shooting is excellent. He has a high, quick release and isn’t afraid to fire as soon as he enters the game. He’s making 40.9 percent of his three-point attempts.
