Grading Packers’ rookies: Seventh-Rounders

Samori Toure (258th pick):

Starting with their last pick, Samori Toure has a real chance to make an impact moving forward. He caught five receptions for 82 yards and one touchdown before an injury shortened his season. He showed good enough hands and route running to earn a closer look in 2023.

Grade: C+

Rasheed Walker (249th pick):

Walker is a massive human being at 6-foot-6 and 324 pounds. He also showed raw ability and could become a rotational tackle if he develops appropriately. He spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, only appearing in one NFL game. However, his future is bright.

Grade: C

Jonathan Ford (234th pick):

Ford spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad and didn’t appear in an NFL game. We’ll see what his future holds with the Packers, as Dean Lowry and Jarran Reed are free agents. He gets points for simply sticking with the team as a seventh-rounder.

Grade: C

Tariq Carpenter (228th pick)

Carpenter only played six defensive snaps all season, but was a regular on multiple special teams units. That’s how you earn your keep as a rookie seventh-round pick. He’ll have a chance to compete for more defensive time next season when there should be a lot of turnover at safety.

Grade: B-
