The 2022 NFL season all comes down to Week 18 for the Green Bay Packers. Win and go…err…stay home.

The Packers host the Detroit Lions with the winner possibly making the postseason. It’s a sure thing if the Packers win, but the Lions need the Seattle Seahawks to lose earlier in the day if they want to get in. Regardless of the outcome of that game, they’ll be ready to rock. They’ve been amping themselves up all week, talking about how Aaron Rodgers sees them as unworthy.

The Packers must be ready to match that intensity. They’ve sometimes fallen flat throughout their tenure under head coach Matt LaFleur when lesser opponents have brought an edge to the field. Green Bay has worked hard to dig themselves out of a 4-8 hole and can’t squander the opportunity now.

Here are three bold predictions about the Packers-Lions game.

Here are three bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers’ must-win game against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football.

Packers’ bold prediction: Force multiple turnovers

Green Bay’s defense has been on fire lately, forcing multiple turnovers a game and taking advantage of those takeaways. On the flip side, the Lions have been great at protecting the football. One of those must give.

Jared Goff has struggled away from home this season and has historically struggled in cold-weather games. Green Bay’s defense gets both of those advantages in Week 18 and will capitalize on it. They’ve been dropping extra guys into coverage and don’t be surprised to see Jaire Alexander or Rasul Douglas get their hands on a couple more passes.

Packers’ bold prediction: Lions run all over the place

The Lions are a well-balanced team. Even if Goff struggles, they’ll have Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift to rely on. The double-headed monster has been great this season, and Swift is peaking at the right time. He’s worked his way back from an early-season injury and is back to his normal self. Green Bay has struggled in this department throughout the year and will struggle again on Sunday night.

Packers’ bold prediction: Big victory

The Packers have come too far and have worked too hard to fall short in front of their home crowd and a national television audience. Aaron Rodgers and this offense will make up for the nine-point dud they laid in their first contest against the Lions.

Christian Watson has emerged and is healthier than last week. He’s a game-changer for Green Bay. Nixon made it through another week of practice, and the team is as healthy as can be at this point in the season. They’re confident in their skills and will play a great game.
