3 most disappointing Packers heading into bye week
When you’re the highest-paid player at your position, you’re held to a higher standard than the rest of your teammates. That’s the case with Green Bay Packers‘ star cornerback Jaire Alexander.
Alexander was an up-and-coming star heading into the 2021 campaign, but got off to a slow start before an injury derailed his season. He came into this year healthier than ever, but hasn’t been able to return to his pre-injury form.
That was never more obvious than when Equanimous St. Brown burned him in the Packers’ last game against the Chicago Bears. Alexander vs St. Brown should be a clear win for the Packers every single time. However, their star corner has given up far too many big plays this season.
These three players have been the most disappointing on the Green Bay Packers’ roster heading into their much-needed Week 14 bye.
Alexander is still having a solid season. He’s PFF’s 12th-ranked cornerback and has allowed a completion on just 58.6 percent of his targets. However, Joe Barry’s passive defense doesn’t seem to fit his style of play. There’s also the question of whether he’d fit better in the slot. He’ll have to answer those legitimate questions as the season and his career progresses.
