The 2022 NFL season has been tumultuous for the Green Bay Packers, as nothing has gone their way. At 4-8, they are basically eliminated from the postseason which means we must turn our attention toward the future.

Starting with defensive coordinator Joe Barry, this team has been a disappointment on so many levels. There was a bunch of hype surrounding Barry’s unit throughout the offseason and heading into the preseason. Their destruction of the Packers’ offense at practice now reveals it was probably more about the struggling O than anything else.

These eight Green Bay Packers could be playing their final games with the franchise as the 2022 NFL season gets closer to finishing.

Barry’s seat has gotten warmer and should be burning hot as the season goes on. There’s really no reason to bring him back for a third season. He continues to play passive defense despite personnel that screams aggressiveness.

He’s also failed to improve any of his players. Kenny Clark and Jaire Alexander–the Packers’ two best defenders–have taken steps back in the last two years. Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage are playing the worst ball of their career. Barry could be coaching the final five games of his Packers’ career.
