Rudy Ford

With Eric Stokes missing the rest of the season with an injury, defensive coordinator Joe Barry was forced to make a much-needed change. He moved Darnell Savage from his traditional safety spot into the slot for several defensive packages and put Rudy Ford in his spot.

Ford was a difference-maker for the defense. He’s a big, physical player who isn’t afraid to close the gap in a hurry. He picked Dak Prescott off twice, including once in the endzone following another Amari Rodgers’ punt return fumble.

More impressively, perhaps, was is wilingness to provide run support from the deep safety position. At one point, he came flying up to bring down Tony Pollard five yards past the line of scrimmage. If it wasn’t for this amazing effort, Pollard had a chance to break a huge run. Ford looks like another steal for this Packers’ D.
