Point Guards and Combo Guards

I combined point guards (Jrue Holiday) with combo guards (Jevon Carter and George Hill) as we tip off our positional preview.

Holiday has posted elite offensive efficiency in the regular season since arriving in Milwaukee two years ago. He’s followed that up twice by peeing down his leg with the rock in his hands in the playoffs. Which is the real Holiday?

If he can just find somewhere in the middle for both the regular and post seasons, the Bucks will probably be better off. It might not matter. His defense is that good. He’s one of the best on-ball defenders in the NBA and has the size and strength to switch onto wings as well. He’s always locked in on that end of the court.

There’s a battle raging behind him. Carter and Hill are going mano a mano for the primary backup guard spot. With his shooting, Carter continues to light the world on fire and is a bulldog on defense. Hill is the dependable veteran. He thought long and hard about retirement this offseason, but didn’t want to go out with a whimper.
