Packers off to a slow start: Darnell Savage

It’s becoming more and more obvious the Packers will need to move on from Darnell Savage.

Savage got off to a nice start to his career and looked like he could become a staple in the Packers’ defense. He had a lovely finish to Green Bay’s 2020 season when he was dominant over the second half. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to regain that level of play.

Savage looks unwilling to come up from his safety spot to make tackles and is lost in coverage. For a player who was supposed to take a step forward this season, he’s taken a gigantic leap backward and is actively hurting the defense. Too bad Green Bay doesn’t have any viable options behind him.
