5 Packers off to a slow start to begin 2022 NFL season
Packers off to a slow start: Devonte Wyatt
In part, Green Bay drafted Devonte Wyatt with one of their two first-round picks because of his assumed readiness to contribute immediately.
At 24 years old, he was the oldest player drafted in the first two rounds. He was supposed to be a part of the Packers’ revamped defensive line that would control the line of scrimmage. Between Wyatt, stud Kenny Clark, the resurgent Dean Lowry, and veteran free agent signing Jarran Reed, this group would be a part of the Packers’ dominant defense this season.
Unfortunately, Wyatt hasn’t been able to earn playing time on the field. He’s failed to stand out since the start of training camp and only played in four snaps in Week 2. The rest of the defensive line has struggled as well.
