The Green Bay Packers were able to bounce back from a horrendous Week 1 showing and record their first victory of the season in Week 2. Unfortunately, they have a handful of players off to a slow start.

With Super Bowl aspirations, Green Bay needs its veteran core to step up and play to its fullest potential. That’s even more true considering their lack of depth across the roster and the lack of unproven players lower on the depth chart.

That’s why it’s so hurtful that these five players are off to slow starts to begin the season.

These five players on the Green Bay Packers are off to slow starts to kick off the 2022 NFL season and need to play better.

Packers off to a slow start: Royce Newman

Newman started Week 1 at right tackle before sliding inside to right guard when Elgton Jenkins returned in Week 2. Unfortunately, he was even worse at his natural position inside than he was playing on the outside. Through two games, he’s allowed four total pressures, including one sack and three hurries. He also struggled in the run game last week and posted a PFF grade of just 51.1. Zach Tom waits in the wings if Newman can’t get his act together.
