The Green Bay Packers are picking up right where they left off the 2021 NFL season: With a lengthy injury report.

We’ll be tracking the Packers (and Vikings) injury report leading up to their Week 1 matchup so make sure you continue to come back to this space for the latest updates. We kick it off with a much longer injury report than anyone had hoped.

There are no injury statuses yet–those will have to wait until Friday–but we are beginning to get a better picture about who will and won’t be available. The Packers listed 11 players compared to just one for the Vikings.

Here is the most up-to-date injury report for the Green Bay Packers Week 1 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

The most notable player was Allen Lazard, the sole Packer who was listed as DNP (Did Not Participate) for Wednesday’s practice. Lazard’s injury appeared to come out of nowhere, and it’s unclear what’s ailing him (it’s listed as an ankle). That would be a massive blow to the Packers’ offense if they miss their projected number one wide receiver to begin the season.

David Bakhtiari, Robert Tonyan and Elgton Jenkins are the other big names to watch. All three were listed as LP (Limited Participants) and are working their way back from significant injuries. Darnell Savage also joined them as a limited participant.

Mason Crosby, Tipa Galeai, Jake Hanson, Dallin Leavitt, Yosh Nijman and Christian Watson were all full participants on Wednesday, signaling they should be good for Sunday’s game.

Meanwhile, the Vikings only noted injury was to defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard who was listed as limited with a bicep.

In addition to the eleven players on the Packers’ injury report, they also have eight players on the season-ending injured reserve and agreed to seven injury settlements. Please continue to check back for updates on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, September 8th Update:

There weren’t any updates–positive or negative–in the Packers’ injury column after Thursday’s practice. All the players listed on Wednesday were listed again on Thursday with the same practice designation. I suppose that could be taken as a good sign there weren’t any setbacks. The lone exception is Marcedes Lewis who did not practice on Thursday due to Veteran’s Rest.

The Vikings did add Lewis Cine as a limited participant and Alexander Mattison did not practice for personal reasons. Bullard was a limited participant once again.
