What will the Packers starting offensive line look like?

As I wrote in a recent article, there are several different offensive line configurations that we could see in Minnesota on Sunday, and they all largely depend on whether or not David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins can play.

During Wednesday’s practice, both players were listed as limited participants. This, of course, doesn’t rule them out for Sunday’s game against the Vikings, but I’m not exactly filled with confidence either.

So if those two are in fact out, what does the starting offensive line look like?

Well, Rodgers may have given us that answer last week by saying that he expects it to be the same group we’ve seen starting all preseason, which consists of Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Jake Hanson, and Royce Newman.

Another combination that we saw consisted of Newman playing right guard with Zach Tom at right tackle.

If Bakhtiari plays and Jenkins doesn’t, then the Packer will have to decide on keeping Newman at right tackle or moving Nijman there–although he had very few right tackle reps this summer. On the flip side, if Jenkins can play but Bakhtiari can’t, then Jenkins likely takes over at right tackle with Newman moving to right guard.

Based on Wednesday’s injury report, I’d be prepared for that first offensive line combination, although we will see how the next few days unfold.
