The Green Bay Packers have been on the verge of another Super Bowl title for three years now, but have fallen short every single time.

Aaron Rodgers is back to help them get over the hump, but will it be enough? This Packers’ team will look a lot different than in the past with the defense expecting to lead them, shutting opposing offenses down and keeping the score as low as possible.

They’re coming off a high when they shut down the San Francisco 49ers’ offense in the playoffs, and feel that’s something they can replicate every game. They have a well-balanced defense that sports talented players at all three levels. As long as the injury bug doesn’t bite their starters, this is as talented of a unit as any in the NFL. On paper, they could carry this team deep in the playoffs.

The Green Bay Packers have a very good chance to finally break through and win the Super Bowl in 2023 due, primarily, to these three reasons.

Reason 2: Protect the rock

Although the offense doesn’t project to be as dynamic as in the past, they will still prioritize the football. Rodgers doesn’t throw interceptions and holds his teammates to the same standard of taking care of the ball.

Green Bay’s offense might struggle to score, but they won’t set their opponents up with short fields. That’s huge, as opposing teams will have to drive the length of the field against this elite defense, making life even more difficult.

Reason 3: Culture

Matt LaFleur has done a tremendous job setting his players up for success on the football field, but he probably deserves more credit for what he’s done in the locker room.

LaFleur has established a team culture that everyone respect. Although LaFleur is the head coach, he values everyone’s opinions and input before making the final decision. He also treats people with respect and has earned it back thanks to his leadership style and knowledge of the game.

This may seem like a trivial aspect to football, but many championship teams talk about how the locker room feeling was different from the beginning. This Packers’ team has the leaders and culture to succeed at a very high level.
