The Green Bay Packers need to have their roster down to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon and already began making cuts.

They waived inside linebacker Ty Summers on Sunday so they could give him the best chance to catch on with another team. Summers has been a core special teamer for Green Bay recently, but was replaced when Rich Bisaccia brought an extra emphasis to the unit this season. The Packers also improved their inside linebacker depth by leaps and bounds with the additions of De’Vondre Campbell, Quay Walker and Isaiah McDuffie over the last two years.

Although players cut between Saturday and Tuesday aren’t subject to be claimed until Wednesday, Summers and his agent can at least begin talking with other teams who may be interested.

If the Green Bay Packers waive any of these players for roster cutdowns, there is a good chance another team could claim them.

There were 27 total players claimed after the roster cutdown last year–Green Bay didn’t sign any players nor have any signed. However, let’s look at two more guys who are in danger of being cut and could be claimed by another team.
