Packers on their last life: Juwann Winfree
Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers publicly vouched for Juwann Winfree a couple of weeks ago, a move that should guarantee his spot on the roster. However, we’ve seen the Packers go in a different direction before after their MVP quarterback spoke up. They wouldn’t dare do it again, would they?
The Packers already have six locks at wide receiver including Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. Would they keep a seventh in Winfree?
They’ve been developing Winfree for a couple of years now, and if they don’t think he’ll get to the point of being a contributor it’s time to cut ties. Even with two rookies and an unproven Amari Rodgers on the depth chart, it’s challenging to imagine Winfree having an on-the-field impact this season.
