The Green Bay Packers have an old-fashioned cluster on their hands at the tight end position and will need every available practice and game to sort out their roster plans.
Robert Tonyan has been activated off the PUP list, but hasn’t participated in team activities yet, and there’s no saying when he’ll be ready to return to the field. Meanwhile, Marcedes Lewis is holding down the position, as Josiah Deguara is the only other lock to make the roster.
Tyler Davis has flashed his potential during his short stint in Green Bay, and is one of the most athletic options they have. Unfortunately, he’s had a couple of poor preseason performances, including a dropped pass that led directly to an interception and a fumble that was recovered by the opposing team.
These four players on the Green Bay Packers might be on their final chance to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster heading into the preseason finalé.
The only good news for Davis is that Green Bay released Dominique Dafney last week, his primary competition for the last spot on the depth chart. However, if he doesn’t turn it around quickly, he could find himself on the outside looking in when the Packers submit their initial roster to the NFL.
Let’s check out three more players on their last life with the Packers.
