Packers making a strong case for roster spot: Tipa Galeai

Rashan Gary and Preston Smith are the top two outside linebackers on the Packers’ depth chart–everyone and their mom knows that. Everyone also knows that the next two-to-three roster spots are completely up for grabs.

Tipa Galeai is locked into a tight battle with Randy Ramsey, Jonathan Garvin, Kingsley Enagbare and La’Darius Hamilton. Galeai hasn’t exactly separated himself from the pack on defense–nobody really has–but he does seem to have an edge on special teams where he’s a starter on all four units. Considering the Packers’ emphasis on that phase this season, that seems to be a pretty good indicator about who they value.
