Packers making a strong case for roster spot: Jonathan Ford
Another battle on the front lines is for the final roster spot along the defensive line. For years, Green Bay’s defensive line was woeful and one of their weak points (other than Kenny Clark). However, 2022 is a new season that has brought a ton of talent up front for Green Bay.
Clark is now joined by free agent Jarran Reed, veteran Dean Lowry, rookie first-round pick Devonte Wyatt, and 2021 draft pick TJ Slaton to form a formidable five-man defensive line rotation. That group is solid and locked into their roster spots, leaving a tight battle for the sixth spot. Jonathan Ford appears to have leap-frogged Jack Heflin in this battle and has a slight edge. The next question if he can hold on will be just how many linemen the Packers will keep.
