6 Takeaways from Packers 2nd week of training camp practices

Zach Tom is looking the part early on at OT for the Packers
There have been two starting offensive line configurations that the Green Bay Packers have been rotating between during each practice.
One consists of Yosh Nijman at left tackle, followed by Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Jake Hanson, and Royce Newman. The other is with Zach Tom at left tackle, followed by Runyan, Myers, Newman, and Nijman.
Tom entered the NFL with over 1,400 career snaps at left tackle, according to PFF ($$), coming out of Wake Forest. However, given his size and length, many draft analysts believed he was best suited for an interior position at this level.
But what we’ve seen from Tom so far is a young player who is very comfortable working in space because of his athleticism — at the NFL combine, Tom posted a RAS of 9.56 out of 10 — and someone with good technique. These two skill-sets, in particular, have allowed Tom to impress.
In addition to taking snaps at left tackle, recently, he has taken more at right tackle as well.
We do not know when David Bakhtiari or Elgton Jenkins will be available, but if the Packers are without either come Week 1, Tom has very much put himself into the discussion of being a Week 1 starter.
