Alarming development at Packers’ training camp: Offensive line

Part of the offense’s consistent struggles throughout training camp has been the constant pressure generated up front. Green Bay revamped their defensive line over the offseason–investing in Jarran Reed and Devonte Wyatt–and it’s already showing up in practices.

The other part of the equation is the immense talent the Packers’ offense is missing along the line. Their two best offensive linemen–David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins–are on the PUP list with no timetable for their return. In their absence, the Packers rely on unproven rookies and players who would otherwise be backups. Jenkins is most likely to begin the season on the PUP and there’s no telling when Bakhtiari will return. To begin the regular season, the Packers will have to rely on these young, unproven players.
