Green Bay Packers Post Family Night Roster Prediction

Cornerback: Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas, Eric Stokes, Keisean Nixon, Shemar Jean-Charles, and Rico Gafford

Previous Prediction: Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas, Eric Stokes, Keisean Nixon, Shemar Jean-Charles, and Rico Gafford

I believe that Nixon and Jean-Charles are pretty much roster locks. Nixon has special teams experience under Bisaccia, and he gives the Packers an additional option in the slot. Jean-Charles is entering his second season and can provide similar value on special teams and from the slot–an area that the Packers are lacking experience.

For that sixth cornerback role, Gafford has stood out over Vaughn, Ento, and Thomas. Gafford has strung together several pass breakups over the past week, and he’s also seen plenty of special teams reps as a gunner, a jammer, and a return man with his 4.22 speed.

Safety (5): Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage, Dallin Leavitt, Vernon Scott, and Shawn Davis

Previous Prediction: Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage, Vernon Scott, Tariq  Carpenter, and Shawn Davis

The addition of Dallin Leavitt is a new development since my last roster prediction. Although he may not be a lead pipe lock, he’s pretty darn close. Leavitt has over 800 career special teams snaps, according to PFF ($$), all of which took place in Las Vegas under Bisaccia, and he also led the Raiders in special teams tackles last season.

Carpenter has special teams experience from his time at Georgia Tech but hasn’t really stood out up to this point. Meanwhile, when Savage left Family Night with an injury, it was Scott who took over next to Amos. Davis has also seen consistent playing time with the second-team defense and even some reps with the starters as well.

Specialists (3): Pat O’Donnell, Mason Crosby, and Jack Coco

Previous Prediction: Pat O’Donnell, Mason Crosby, Steven Wirtel

I originally went with Wirtel because I didn’t know what to expect and chose his experience. However, it has been Coco who has consistently been with the first team field goal unit. With that said, I also believe there is the possibility that the Packers long-snapper for the 2022 season isn’t on the roster yet.

At kicker, Gabe Brkic has been wildly inconsistent. This is Crosby’s job when he is fully healthy.
