Packers’ edge rusher Rashan Gary looks dominant as ever

Rashan Gary is coming off a 2021 season where he was one of the most productive edge rushers in football. According to PFF ($$), Gary finished the regular season with 81 quarterback pressures, which was the second-most among edge rushers. He also finished third in PFF’s pass rush productivity metric.

Although, in terms of rankings, there isn’t much higher Gary can go; now entering his fourth NFL season and still just 24 years old, the early reps in training camp show a player whose game is about to go to another level–cementing himself as one of the best in the game.

In short, whether with power or speed, Gary has spent the first four practices living in the backfield.

"“Rashan is a tone-setter, and I think you guys see that each and every day,” said LaFleur via The Athletic ($$). “He’s got the capability of wrecking practice. He probably would have had four sacks (on Thursday). He’s just relentless. He plays with a great motor and energy, and I think it rubs off on everybody. He makes everybody around him better.”"

If there is one particular area from a production standpoint where he can get better, it will be converting more of those pressures into sacks. Last season, Gary still hit the 10 sack mark, according to PFF, but ranked 17th overall.
