Packers with most to prove: Allen Lazard

The Packers lost a lot of proven talent at wide receiver with the departures of Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling and mostly replaced that with rookies. Allen Lazard has flown up the depth chart as a result and projects to win the team’s number one wide receiver spot when the season begins.

Next. 1 bold prediction for each Packers' positional group heading into training camp. dark

Lazard has been the Packers’ no. 3 receiver, at best, throughout his career in the NFL. That’s a gigantic leap to number one and a task that might prove to be too tall for him. He has good chemistry with Rodgers–a must have if you want the ball consistently in this offense. However, he hasn’t proven he has the skill to get the job done every single week. The Packers’ season could depend on the emergence of a consistent pass-catcher from somewhere on this offense.
