Bold prediction for Packers’ rookie entering training camp: Rasheed Walker

Rasheed Walker might have the highest upside of any of the players drafted in the seventh round–it will just take him time to get there. If he achieves his full potential, he could become a swing tackle in the NFL, something that’s very valuable to a team like Green Bay. To begin his career, however, it will be harder to beat out a fairly deep position and he’ll earn his way onto the practice squad.

Prediction: Makes Practice Squad

Bold prediction for Packers’ rookie entering training camp: Jonathan Ford

The Packers have revamped their defensive line this offseason by using a first-rounder and signing a free agent at the position. That means they have a solid rotation consisting of Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt, Dean Lowry, Jarran Reed, and T.J. Slaton. Jack Heflin is also hanging out there. That’s a lot of depth to beat out and I don’t think Ford is up to the task.

Prediction: Cut

Bold prediction for Packers’ rookie entering training camp: Tariq Carpenter

Unlike the other players drafted in the seventh round, the Packers are thin at the position Tariq Carpenter was picked to play. Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage are the unquestioned starters at safety, but there are huge question marks behind them. Carpenter will be in the mix with Shawn Davis, Vernon Scott and Innis Gaines for the final spot on the depth chart.

Prediction: Makes Initial Roster
