Packers with training camp hype: Eric Stokes

On the opposite end of the spectrum is cornerback Eric Stokes. After being a surprise first-round selection last year, he showed the world why Green Bay had so much confidence in him.

With Jaire Alexander missing most of the season and Kevin King continuing his struggles, Stokes stepped into the CB 1 role and shared the spotlight with Rasul Douglas. The rookie proved to be one of the better corners in the entire NFL simply by staying close to his man.

With Alexander returning from injury and Douglas being re-signed, Stokes won’t have to handle such a heavy load of top receivers. However, he’s prepared to handle the reps he does get and is ready to take his game to the next level. Hopefully, that includes some interceptions and more hands on balls.
