After two years of good health to kick off Matt LaFleur’s head coaching tenure, the Green Bay Packers were struck by the injury bug last season. It came in relentless waves and could still have an impact on the 2022 season.

LaFleur has always been very cognizant of his player’s health, often choosing to prioritize it over reps in the preseason. Unfortunately, it’s a violent game and injuries are unavoidable. There are a number of players still recovering from major incidents last season and are already strong candidates to begin this season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Let’s check out who they are.

These four players on the Green Bay Packers are candidates to begin the 2022 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Packers who are candidates to begin season on PUP: Kylin Hill

Kylin Hill made a strong impression in training camp and preseason last year. With Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon ahead of him on the depth chart, he didn’t make much of an impact on offense–rushing just 10 times for 24 yards in the eight games leading up to his injury. However, he was a decent returner that at least commanded respect from opposing kickoff units.

The 2021 seventh-round draft pick tore his ACL on October 28th and will likely need a bit more time than the early September start date for this upcoming season. That’s okay with Green Bay, as they have the depth to fill his third running back spot while being patient with his recovery.
