Packers’ best offseason additions: Sammy Watkins

The Packers lost a lot of talent at wide receiver this offseason thanks to the trade of Davante Adams and free agent departure of Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Other than the draft, Green Bay added Sammy Watkins as the primary way to try to replace some of that production.

Watkins has already talked about his career that hasn’t lived up to his full potential and how he hopes to begin turning that around this season. This was a fairly low-risk, high-reward signing for the Packers, as Watkins has one of the higher ceilings of any of the wide receivers in this class. He might not be likely to reach that ceiling, but he’s proven he can do it in the past. Health will be his biggest challenge.
