Packers with a lot to prove: Darnell Savage

Darnell Savage’s short career has played out a lot like a roller coaster with plenty of ups and downs. Drafted in the first round back in 2019, he hasn’t quite lived up to his full potential through three years. Right when it seems like he’s going to turn the corner, he falls back into old habits.

Savage finished 2020 with some of the best play of his career, but regressed for the entire 2021 season. He had some pretty ugly moments last year, especially in coverage, and needs to improve his ability in pass coverage. The Packers can’t afford the lesser version and need him to be at his best for 2022. His fifth-year option is depending on it.
