Perhaps, the Green Bay Packers are as hungry as ever. Their Super Bowl window is clearly closing, but open just enough for the urgency to be felt by the entire organization. Aaron Rodgers could retire any year now, leaving the team in a state of transition.

To protect themselves from Rodgers’ retirement, general manager Brian Gutekunst has put together one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL with a lot of positions having playmakers who can sway the game in Green Bay’s favor. However, there are still guys who have to prove their worth to the team–let’s take a look at seven players who have a lot to prove before the season even begins.

These seven players on the Green Bay Packers have a lot to prove in one way or another before the 2022 NFL season officially begins.

Packers with a lot to prove: Royce Newman

A fourth-round pick in 2021, Royce Newman surprisingly started 16 games as a rookie and held the right guard spot down for most of the season. However, his struggles were clear and Green Bay is looking to upgrade his spot one way or another. That means Newman has plenty of competition at the position and needs to prove himself as the starter. Training camp and preseason will be huge factors in determining who starts at right guard to begin the season.
