The Green Bay Packers made some difficult decisions this offseason when they were forced to let a number of players go due to various reasons. Although most of them were cap-related, there were other factors that went into general manager Brian Gutekunst’s decision-making.

With the team significantly over the salary cap for 2022 and prematurely exiting the playoffs in a home loss, Gutekunst couldn’t just cut talent and hope his squad would find a way to overcome the issues that have plagued them in recent postseasons. However, there were three players he was right to move on from.

The Green Bay Packers made a lot of personnel moves this offseason, but were right to get rid of these three former players.

Players Packers were right to move on from: Chandon Sullivan

The Packers of the West, AKA the Minnesota Vikings, will have a very familiar look on the defensive side of the ball this season including a few coaches and multiple players with direct, recent ties to Green Bay.

One of their new recruits is slot cornerback Chandon Sullivan. Sullivan played for the Packers for the last three years and earned a spot as their starting slot corner. Unfortunately, he was one of their weak links on defense and good teams often singled him out and picked on him for easy matchups. With the Packers trying to upgrade their passing defense, it was right to move on from the fourth-year veteran.
