Disappointing Milwaukee Brewers’ hitters: Lorenzo Cain
Unfortunately, it appears as if Lorenzo Cain’s time in the MLB may be coming to an end. It was fun to see the bookends of his career–watching him briefly grow in in the Brewers’ farm system before being traded to Kansas City and now returning to Milwaukee these last five years.
Cain’s struggles at the plate that have plagued him throughout most of his time in Milwaukee have reached an all-time low. Through 40 games, he’s hitting a measly .165 with a .222 on-base percentage. He’s striking out more than ever before and has a walk rate near career-lows. With Tyrone Taylor waiting in the wings, it might be time for Craig Counsell to move on.
