The Green Bay Packers have some soul searching to do at wide receiver this offseason. They’ve revamped the position for the worse and have a lot of guys who need to figure out their roles on this team. That leaves a wide-open competition for the top receiver spot.

With Davante Adams traded away and Marquez Valdes-Scantling signing with another team in free agency, Green Bay is left with a random group of receivers that have the potential to develop in the years to come. Unfortunately, potential doesn’t write the checks and is often left uncashed.

Since mandatory minicamp started this week, let’s take a look at three receivers who have the opportunity to emerge as the Packers’ top receiving threat this season.

These three players on the Green Bay Packers have the opportunity to seize control of the team’s top wide receiver spot this season.

Packers’ potential no. 1 wide receiver: Christian Watson

The Packers moved up in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft to select Christian Watson and likely overpaid in the process. However, they hope he can turn into the dynamic receiver they just lost in Adams.

Watson is the primary example of a player with a ton of potential, but who will have to earn every snap he’s on the field. He’s got a great size, speed, and athleticism combination that will earn him plenty of opportunities to catch the rock. His hands need a lot of work and will be worth keeping an eye on. If he can catch the ball when it’s thrown to him, he’ll be in for a monster season.
