Packers on thin ice entering mandatory minicamp:  Krys Barnes

Since starting as an undrafted free agent rookie back in 2020, Krys Barnes has done nothing but free fall down the depth chart. The Packers signed De’Vondre Campbell last summer who quickly established himself as the starter. This year they used their top draft pick on Quay Walker who fully expects to take over the other starting spot alongside Campbell.

Leaving Barnes further and further down the depth chart, he’ll have to prove himself once again. He’s a solid player, but someone who is definitely better suited to be a backup instead of a starter. Barnes will get some opportunities on the field if Walker or Campbell gets hurt, but he needs to shift his focus to special teams. That’s still a huge area of need for the Packers and they desperately need one to take it seriously and excel.
