Early Look at Green Bay Packers 2023 Unrestricted Free Agents

Jarran Reed

Jarran Reed will step in and be an immediate contributor as a member of the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line rotation. He is someone who can affect either the run or the passing games. Reed has recorded at least 20 pressures in five of his six NFL seasons and finished 2021 ranking 45th in PFF’s run-stop win rate out of 148 total linemen.

He signed a one-year deal earlier this offseason, and if I had to guess, I’ll venture to say that this will be his only year in Green Bay.

Marcedes Lewis

Every year we wonder if Marcedes Lewis is going to retire at the end of it; however, he continues to play at a very high level, still as one of the best blocking tight ends in football, while also being a valuable leader on this Packers team.

Lewis would end the 2021 season ranked as PFF’s 10th best pass-blocking tight end and their eighth-best run-blocking tight end.

Sammy Watkins

Staying healthy is and has always been the key for Sammy Watkins. If he can do that, he can add some needed playmaking on the boundary for this Packers offense. Last season with Baltimore, Watkins was able to average almost 15.0 yards per catch and will add some big-play ability.

Like Reed, Watkins was signed to a one-year contract, and I believe that is all it will be. As Green Bay transitions to a younger wide receiver room, Watkins provides some veteran stability for Rodgers to lean on in 2022.
