Packers Weakest Positions: Depth at outside linebacker, safety and cornerback

Green Bay has very good starters at each of those positions and guys who can carry the load. However, just one injury to one of their top guys and their whole rotation will be thrown into chaos. That doesn’t include outside linebacker where rotating guys in and out is essential to keeping them healthy.

Starting on the edge, Rashan Gary and Preston Smith form one of the better outside linebacker duos in the NFL. Gary is on the rise and is looking to build off his terrific 2021 performance while Smith returned to form after a down 2020 campaign. Unfortunately, there are no proven guys behind them and the Packers desperately need to find one or two guys they can rely upon in the rotation.

Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage will play all of the safety snaps, but it would be nice to have a legit third safety as well. Henry Black signed with the New York Giants and the Packers don’t have any other meaningful options at the position. The same goes for cornerback behind Jaire Alexander, Rasul Douglas and Eric Stokes. The Packers need to find someone at each position who can be average at their job.
