The Green Bay Packers have most of their roster filled out for the 2022 NFL season, but four guys are still unsigned

For various reasons, the Packers are still working out contract details with each of these guys–some of whom they expect to be significant contributors. Although there’s no reason to be alarmed quite yet, there is an urgency to get a deal done with Organized Team Activities kicking back up again.

Let’s take a quick look at those four players.

The Green Bay Packers still need to agree on a contract with these four remaining players who are still unsigned.

Zach Tom

A fourth-round rookie out of Wake Forest, Zach Tom spent his career playing left tackle, but is expected to shift a bit in the NFL. Green Bay loves versatile offensive linemen and they expect to turn Tom into just that–a guy who can play all three interior spots and potentially even kick out to tackle if necessary. It’s essential he signs his rookie deal to get into OTA’s and begin working toward a starting spot.

Romeo Doubs

Another fourth-round pick, Romeo Doubs adds some much-needed speed to the Packers’ wide receiver corps (along with the next guy) and should be able to spread the defense vertically. Matt LaFleur could also use him horizontally, as he loves to run his receivers on crossing routes. Doubs also projects to compete for the punt returning job.

Christian Watson

Christian Watson is the offensive prize of the Packers’ draft and someone they absolutely love long-term. He’s a bit raw right now and needs to work to improve his hands and route-running. However, he has all the physical tools to succeed in the NFL and the sky is the limit for his potential.

Allen Lazard

This is the most peculiar unsigned player on the list. Green Bay offered him a restricted free agent tender earlier in the offseason and Lazard has yet to accept it. The contract would pay him just under $4 million next season, so he could be holding out for more money and a longer deal. At 27-years-old, this might be his best opportunity to get a big deal considering the leverage he holds over Green Bay’s receiving situation. We’ll see how this gets resolved as the offseason goes on.
