5 early Packers’ breakout candidates for 2022 NFL season
The Green Bay Packers lost a lot of talent this offseason and will need some internal players to take the next step in their development to fill the void.
Fortunately, general manager Brian Gutekunst has done a great job replenishing the young talent on this team via the draft and other methods. He’s positioned them not only for short-term success, but also for a bright long-term future.
Let’s check out five early breakout candidates who could take the next step and provide the Packers with some much-needed playmaking on both sides of the ball.
The Green Bay Packers need contributions from some unknown players ahead of the 2022 NFL season and these five players could be primed to breakout.
Packers’ breakout candidate: Josh Myers
Josh Myers was dubbed as the Packers’ starting center from Day 1 last year and proved he could hold his own. He only played in six games due to injury, but he is a great communicator and someone Aaron Rodgers can trust at center. At this point in his carer, he’s a better pass-blocker than run-blocker, but he has the ability to improve in both facets. With one year of NFL play under his belt and an entire offseason devoted to understanding what’s required at this level, he’s primed to take a huge step forward.
