Packers’ rookies who could start in Week 1: Christian Watson, WR

This is the riskiest starter on the list and the one with the highest upside.

Green Bay is rolling out a makeshift wide receiver corps that includes Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, Amari Rodgers and Christian Watson as their top five guys. At this point in their respective careers, none of those guys should probably be higher than a no. 3 receiver on a depth chart. Yet, here we are.

Watson has elite speed to make a difference in Matt LaFleur’s offense. LaFleur will probably get creative with how he uses him, including on wide receiver screens, crossing routes, and jet sweeps. If Watson can catch the rock, he’ll be in the starting lineup in Week 1.
