The great, good & bad from Milwaukee Bucks Game 3 win over Boston
By Todd Welter
The Milwaukee Bucks three-point shooting was not good.
The Bucks struggled to shoot from beyond the arc. Milwaukee shot just 27% from three-point range, and as a result, the Bucks made just nine three-pointers. Two of their reliable three-point shooters are having a rough go in this series.
Grayson Allen had a great series against the Chicago Bulls because he was burying three-pointers. In this series, Allen has struggled with his shot from deep. He shot 0-3 in Game 3 from three-point range and is just 3-12 on the series. All three of those three-pointers came in Game 1.
Bobby Portis only buried one three-pointer in Game 3. He is 3-11 in the series when it comes to his three-point shot.
The Bucks need to start making more threes if they hope to keep this series from going to seven games.
The fourth-quarter defense was pretty bad.
The Milwaukee Bucks were up 13 to start the fourth quarter. They were outscored 32-18 over the first 11 minutes.
The Bucks nearly gave the game away because the defense faltered again. Their team defense has been inconsistent throughout the series.
It was really good in Game 1. The defense was non-existent in Game 2. In Game 3, the defense was a mix of Game 1 and Game 2.
The Bucks played great team defense in the third quarter—something they rarely did in the regular season.
The Boston Celtics are one of the best defensive teams in the league. The Bucks need to match their defense through all four quarters. Otherwise, more outcomes like what happened in Game 2 could happen.
